Congratulations to Luis Gutierrez for successfully defending his Barrett Honors thesis, titled “Ethnic, Familial, and Cultural Barriers Impacting non-White Representation in Environmental Programs.”   He found that students choice of degree program were unrelated to family influence or acculturation, but families were strongly related to students’ decisions depending on the language they spoke at home, household income, and acculturation (to the dominant culture).  Fantastic work, Luis!
